Unsightly drywall damage can be very irritating.
Finding a professional for Drywall Repairs can be tough.
Finishing and Repairing drywall is very tricky.
This is a slow and tedious process, requiring several visits to the home,
waiting for drywall mudd and paint to dry.
Making sure that when the repair is over,
It will appear as though the damage never happened.
For holes two inches in diameter or less, its a simple fill and sand technique.
For holes or damage larger than 3 inches in diameter,
you must first start with removing the Damaged drywall.
Frame in behind the wall with 2 x 4’s or similar material.
The goal is to have something secure to fasten the drywall to.
The next step is to apply paper or fiberglass mesh tape so the seams won’t crack later.
Once the hole has been repaired, it’s time to start applying drywall mudd.
Its better to apply 5 or 6 light coats verses 2 or 3 heavy coats.
In between coats, it’s good to do a light sand or use a mudd knife
to knock down any heavy lines, high spots, and rough edges, left from your drywall knives.
Sanding is very tricky. It is very easy to sand away all the mudd that you just added to the wall.
Once the Drywall Repair is finished it’s very important to,
sand the outside edges very lightly.
If the edges are sanded properly, the repair will be very noticeable,
and will stick out like a sore thumb.
At final completion, its time to paint.
The repair will usually require 3 or 4 coats of paint
